How many treatments do I need?

Hair naturally grows in six week cycles. The different patterns of growth require at least five treatments that are spaced six weeks apart to allow maximum permanent hair reduction. Each treatment will reduce hair volume by 1/3. Five treatments are usually required for optimum results though each treatment typically provides a noticeable difference.

Can you removed my hair if I have dark skin?

The Cutera laser has a 1064nm wavelength and is safe and effective on all skin types and conditions. The hair removal does not cause any discoloration that would affect darker skin.

Can I have this done if I have light hair?

This procedure is meant to reduce dark, unwanted, noticeable hair. We find hair that is white, gray, or fine blonde is more difficult to treat effectively by any method, and results vary between patients.

Does it hurt?

The laser treats hair at the root, but does not injure the skin. You may experience a tingly sensation during the procedure. Discomfort will vary between patients. Topical anesthetics are available to our patients.
